The Best Coffee Shops To Work From In Williamsburg, Brooklyn | aestheticstraveler.com luxury travel & lifestyle blog

Williamsburg is the place I call home, and one of the best neighborhoods in NYC for coffee shops. Williamsburg’s coffee shop scene is unmatched, with plenty of cafes to choose from which are more spacious and welcoming than most Manhattan spots. The vast coffee shop scene is one of the main reasons I chose Williamsburg as home. Below are my favorite coffee shops to work from in Williamsburg. I chose these coffee shops as I’ve tried them myself, they offer great coffee, matcha, pastries, reliable wifi, have friendly staff, and ample seating. Enjoy!

Black Brick Coffee

Located on busy Bedford avenue, this coffee shop is ideal for a cozy pick me up or a workspace. The coffee is good (according to a friend) and so is the matcha (my drink of choice). The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance is warm and relaxing. It feels like the quintessential Brooklyn coffee shop where you can sit for hours reflecting on life, journaling, or writing your first NYC-based novel. There is plenty of seating with laptops being allowed in the back area. There is also a serene backyard open in the Spring and Summer.

Lion’s Milk

Lion’s Milk is a unique coffee shop located deeper in Williamsburg and specializes in Turkish treats. You can find great Turkish coffee, matcha, and Simit (Turkish bagel). The coffee shop has plentiful seating, featuring both an indoor area and a covered terrace. Both spaces are quiet and comfortable, and you’ll find plenty of remote workers on their laptops. As a matcha lover, I can recommend their latte – it’s strong, high-quality, and prepared well (no burnt oat milk here). I usually come work from Lion’s Milk when I’m craving a treat and on sunny days as I love their outdoor area.

Partners Coffee

Partners is a Williamsburg staple, and therefore, you’ll always find the coffee shop packed. This shouldn’t deter you from trying it out though, as it’s popular for a reason! Their space is warm, welcoming, and light-filled. They have quite a bit of tables inside and a working but social vibes. This, along with their great coffee, matcha, pastries, and reliable wifi make it an ideal coffee shop to work from in Williamsburg.

Butler

Butler is my favorite coffee shop in Williamsburg to work from. This is partly because it’s very close to my apartment, and partly because the space, service, and matcha are just the best. Butler is always a vibe – from the friendly staff that actually make an effort to bring a smile to your face, to the overall ambiance of the guests, Butler is bound to make your morning better. I say morning as it’s my favorite time of day to work from here. My routine goes something like this: pack my laptop bag, walk with my dog Mia around the neighborhood making our way to Butler, order a matcha latte with oat milk in a mug plus a sticky date muffin or breakfast empanada, grab a table, chat with my neighbor, and get to work for 2-3 hours. Everyone in Williamsburg loves Butler, and you will too.

Devoción

While Devoción isn’t my go-to (they don’t serve matcha 🥲), it is a local favorite so I have to include it. The coffee shop has a stunning natural light-filled interior. With brick walls, plentiful seating, and reliable wifi, it’s the perfect coffee shop to work from in Williamsburg. My friends say the coffee is great, so if you’re a coffee drinker you’ll likely find a work home at Devoción.

There you have it, the best coffee shops to work from in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
