Hi there, I'm Karen

I’m a serial entrepreneur, marketing consultant, online educator, influencer, writer, dog mom, and founder of Remote + Wealthy. I'm OBSESSED with adventure, matcha, my dog Mia, yoga and fitness, travel, building businesses, and personal development. I love deep conversations with strangers from cultures other than my own and traveling with people I barely know. I have 7 tattoos and each represent a crucial stage in my life, or let's keep it real, an existential crisis.

At Remote + Wealthy, our mission is to bring more freedom to the world. We believe in order to live a truly fulfilled life you need to have the 4 pillars of freedom - Financial Freedom, Time Freedom, Location Freedom, and Creative Freedom.

Financial freedom gives you the resources to do what you want, when you want, with who you want. 

Time freedom allows you to be in control of your own schedule, and work as much or as little as you’d like, while actually enjoying life. 

Location freedom allows you to live life on your own terms — keep a home base and travel whenever you’d like, or go full-time nomad. The choice is yours, and there’s the keyword — you actually have a CHOICE. 

Creative freedom is the ability to create your heart’s desires, to manifest your wildest and most beautiful visions into the material world, and to create beauty for the world to enjoy. It’s the freedom to do what you really love, and live life purposefully and beautifully.

How personal branding built my dream career and life

My entrepreneurship journey didn't actually start in 2016, but in 2014, when I was studying Fashion Merchandising and working at Nordstrom. I was told by a professor that having a blog was a great resume builder, and so Little Black Shell, a fashion blog later turned travel blog, came to life. 

Building my personal brand has been the defining factor in my success as both an entrepreneur and employee. Having a strong personal brand allowed me to attract my ideal clients through both blogging partnerships, and for social media management, consulting and strategy. My personal brand also allowed me to grow my corporate career beyond my wildest dreams - having employers find me and request my services, vs me chasing them. Every job I've gotten, and every client I've gotten has been a direct result of the personal brand I built. 

With a strong personal brand, vision, and marketing strategy, the world is limitless.
