Last year, I had the pleasure of staying at the Proper DTLA Hotel, and it was an experience that truly enhanced my short visit to Los Angeles. I chose this remarkable hotel for its proximity to the Create & Cultivate conference, and I couldn’t have made a better decision. From the design-focused room, to the service, and the stunning rooftop pool and restaurant, the Proper DTLA Hotel exceeded expectations.
One of the first things that struck me about the Proper Hotel was its incredibly friendly staff. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was met with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Their impeccable service and attention to detail left a lasting impression on me, making me feel right at home in the heart of DTLA.
The highlight of my stay had to be the breathtaking rooftop pool and restaurant. As the sun dipped below the LA skyline, I found myself savoring the most picturesque sunset. The views from the rooftop were simply stunning, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of conferences and meetings. The rooftop restaurant’s culinary delights were also a nice surprise. I treated myself to proper tacos after a full day of networking at Create & Cultivate.
Exploring the area around the Proper Hotel was a delightful experience too. DTLA has a reputation of being seedy, dirty, and with many homeless. While this is true, this particular part of DTLA where the Proper Hotel is located is very clean and safe. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and rooftops for when you want to do more than network. I particularly enjoyed strolling to nearby coffee shops like Verve and Bottega Louie, where I could start my day with a delightful cup of coffee and some delicious pastries.
For those who appreciate the Proper experience, you’ll be pleased to know that the Proper Hotel brand extends beyond DTLA. The Proper Santa Monica is another gem for design lovers, offering an even higher level of sophistication and charm. If you’re looking for a memorable stay on the Westside, it’s a must-visit destination.
In conclusion, my stay at the Proper Hotel in DTLA was a perfect blend of elegance, urban adventure, and exceptional service. With its friendly staff, the awe-inspiring rooftop pool and nice restaurant, it’s a top-notch choice for both business and leisure travelers.
